Onondaga Community College, located in Syracuse, NY is currently recruiting for a Electromechanical (Mechatronics) PRODiG+ Community College Faculty FT Tenure Track.
The Engineering Science and Technology Department has a full-time tenure track faculty position open. Major responsibilities of this position include college-level teaching of Electrical and Electromechanical (Mechatronics) courses and laboratories in content areas such as circuit design and analysis, digital electronics, microprocessor, programmable logic controllers, robotics (FANUC and UR), industrial automation, motion and motor control, project management, and other typical electromechanical technical areas. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, curriculum development, participation on committees, and collaboration with colleagues to assess student learning outcomes. The role is part of the Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth Plus Community College (PRODiG+ CC) program; an initiative supported by SUNY system aiming to: (1) increase the number and share of excellent diverse community college faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion by hiring qualified candidates directly into tenure-track positions to support the community colleges' efforts to build an educated workforce in the state; and (2) strengthen the pipeline for retention and support of these candidate. Candidates hired into a PRODiG+ CC role will receive additional faculty mentorship and professional development funds to support their professional growth.

Knowledge of electromechanical applications in demand by local industry is also valued, including, but not limited to: hydraulics & pneumatics, robotics, soldering & electronic assembly, electrical test & measurement, mechanical assembly techniques, motors & controllers, sensors & machine vision, and industrial control systems.

The 2026-2027 starting salary for the rank of an Assistant Professor is $61,466.
