The Director of Government Relations will serve as the primary liaison between MACNY, its member companies, and local, New York state, and federal officials. As the recognized voice for Central and Upstate New York manufacturers and businesses, as well as for manufacturers throughout New York State, MACNY seeks to connect with and influence the State’s key policy makers.
This is a senior-level position that requires an articulate, self-directed professional to operate within a complex and sophisticated political environment in Albany, Central New York, and throughout New York State. This person would be expected to interact with regional and New York State business leaders and elected officials on public policy and legislative issues that have the potential to significantly impact employers, especially manufacturers. Candidates must have a solid knowledge of how government and policy operate and have experience working with key legislative offices.
The Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(6) association representing over 300 businesses and organizations across Central and Upstate New York. About three-quarters of MACNY’s members are industrial companies with the remaining members consisting of accounting firms, insurance agencies, law firms, financial institutions, and other service providers that support manufacturers.
MACNY members supply the region, nation, and world with a variety of products and services. Distributed across 26 counties in Central and Upstate New York, MACNY’s member companies employ over 50,000 workers.
