The Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY) seeks an energetic individual to serve as the Manager of Pre-Apprenticeship Programs. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Services and Workforce Development, the Manager of Pre-Apprenticeship Programs primary focus will be on the Real Life Rosies® and Advance 2 Apprenticeship™ direct entry programs, ensuring consistent program delivery, and fostering strong relationships with participants and partners.  

 

The Manager of Pre-Apprenticeship Programs The ideal candidate is a steady, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and excels at turning vision into action. Experience cultivating and sustaining community relationships and working knowledge of federal grant programs to successfully administer and track program deliverables. 

Responsibilities

Leadership 

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project teams, fostering professional growth and development. 
  • Delegate tasks effectively, monitor team performance, and provide feedback to ensure high-quality project outcomes. 
  • Cultivate a supportive, team-oriented culture that values accountability and continuous improvement and encourages knowledge sharing and innovation. 

 

Program & Project Execution 

  • Monitor daily program activities to ensure alignment with timelines, standards, and outcomes. 
  • Assist with troubleshooting challenges and implementing solutions in real time. 
  • Design and deliver in person and web based presentations and trainings 
  • Manage, develop, and design training and technical assistance resources, in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team, to include outreach materials, resource guides, best practices, etc.  
  • Oversee and provide technical assistance to key stakeholders on the project. 
  • Conduct monthly reviews and assessments of projects to ensure alignment with contract deliverables. 

 

Program Coordination 

  • Oversee participant recruitment, enrollment, and engagement processes. 
  • Ensure consistent delivery of career readiness, training, and job placement services. 
  • Maintain program documentation and ensure compliance with confidentiality and data standards. 

 

Partner & Community Engagement 

  • Support staff in building and maintaining relationships with employers, educators, and community partners. 
  • Represent the program at events and meetings as needed. 
  • Coordinate logistics for partner participation in programming. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with businesses, educators, and community partners to promote the benefits of MACNY’s workforce development initiatives and MACNY’s Membership offerings. 
  • Lead efforts, including prospecting and presentations, to secure new outreach and pre-apprenticeship connections. 
  • Work with the Manager of Apprenticeship and Workforce Development to develop pathways from pre-apprenticeship into Registered Apprenticeship. 

 

Data & Reporting Oversight 

  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into systems such as OSOS, Salesforce, and Smartsheets. 
  • Review staff documentation and assist in preparing reports for grants and internal use. 
  • Perform quarterly desk audits to ensure accuracy and timely data entry. 
  • Use data to identify trends, inform decisions, and support continuous improvement.

USD $70,000.00/Yr.

Max Compensation

USD $80,000.00/Yr.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience in workforce development, operations, recruiting, or manufacturing human resources. 
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in a nonprofit or grant-funded environment. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Ability to translate high-level goals into actionable plans, prioritize tasks that drive measurable outcomes and be proactive in identifying and solving problems. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively—especially when presenting updates or proposals. 
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficiency in computer technology, including Microsoft Office applications, relational databases for customer relationship management, and other essential internet software.  
  • Must have reliable transportation for frequent outreach and engagements 
  • Must have flexibility in availability to support occasional activities outside of regular business hours 
  • Completion of a satisfactory background check is required.
