The Fountainhead Group has an immediate opening for a Distribution Center (DC) Manager located on Kenneth Dodge Drive in Schuyler. In this role, the DC Manager will establish, implement & enforce policies and procedures to provide timely, accurate and cost effective shipment of orders to FGI customers, and flow of materials throughout the FGI facilities.

 

PLEASE NOTE: The typical schedule for this position is, Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM and is located in Schuyler, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee DC Shipping & Receiving Personnel, and related activities on all shifts, including daily assignments, employee accountability and the transfer of personnel /workload between warehouses, capitalizing on the strengths of each individual team member. Must be able to fill the role for any office personnel that are absent.
  • Ensure completion of daily activities by Shipping Personnel, including but not limited to: All ASNs transmitted daily
    • Orders are released on time to customers and applicable notes are updated in the system,
    • Bill of Ladings are completed & filed accurately
    • Ensure all Pack IDs are closed by the end of the day.
  • Maintain regular communication with Customer Service, Sales Team and Warehouse Director on hot issues or problem situations.
  • In coordination with the Director of Warehouse & Distribution Operations, schedule overtime as needed to complete the workload and achieve target goals.
  • Complete performance reviews on all DC Personnel.
  • Mentor/coach and train employees to advance their skills to support growth and future success within their role and the organization
  • Enforces DC rules and procedures.
  • Support FGI’s safety program, ensuring all personnel perform their jobs safely, a safe working environment and the facility is secured at the end of the day.
    • Ensure operational activities are within all health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain access to customer portals and have a working knowledge of how to navigate through portals and what info must be pulled and transmitted daily.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our Customer Routing Guides and specific customer shipping / delivery requirements to include maintenance and compliance (Markings, Barcodes, documentation, BOL, etc.)
  • Maintain a rapport with 3rd party freight carriers necessary for distribution of company products to ensure shipments are delivered timely, intact and specific customer instructions are followed.
  • Ensure Rite Hite system is properly maintained and updated
    • Monitor to confirm that trucks are being evenly distributed throughout the day and loaded on time to avoid detention charges.
  • Work in conjunction with WMS Manager to plan, organize, direct and control the storage of all materials at all FGI locations, including storage at rented or leased sites, including location management in FGI computer system.
  • Coordinate physical material moves (documentation and computer transactions) with WMS Manager.
  • Maintain cycle count procedures (as it pertains to notification of stock outs in respective bins).
  • Communicate updates with Production Control on out-of-stock products required to fill orders.
  • Stock Locator System – Ensure employees are picking products from correct bins and shipping from correct staging locations.
  • Assume the leadership role in annual physical inventory with ultimate goal of eliminating physical inventory.
  • Inventory Rotation Procedures – Ensure products are shipped on a FIFO basis to the extent reasonably possible.
  • Responsible for overseeing the housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouses and material handling equipment.
  • With the Director of Warehouse & Distribution Operations, investigate, recommend and justify the need for new equipment, methods and procedures to meet goals.
  • Partner with HR to ensure accurate recording of all employee time punches, and the submittal of time-off forms as required.

USD $90,000.00/Yr.

Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a related field.  Minimum of an Associate’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of warehouse environment experience
  • Be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, work safely and be able to prioritize and adapt to daily tasks
  • Computer literate with the ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), FGI’s ERP system and vendor portals.
  • Strong follow up and follow through skills. Must be organized and regimented in daily office and shipping tasks.
  • Possess strong organizational skills, as well as leadership and planning skills.
  • Work environment is typical of a distribution warehouse environment.
    • Ability to lift 30 pounds and sit and/or stand for long periods at a time
  • Ability to build a team spirit amongst department personnel.
  • Maintain a strong attendance record
