The Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY) is seeking a talented Workforce Development Specialist to support a broad range of initiatives. The ideal candidate has a passion for developing career pathways, engaging with businesses, educators, and community partners to source solutions for workforce challenges.

Responsibilities

Career Pathway Programming

  • Work with the Pre-Apprenticeship team to support programming in coordination with education and industry partners to provide career preparation and job placement for program participants.
  • Serve on pre-apprenticeship advisory committees as required.
  • Collaborate with partners to establish program calendars and coordinate employer participation in programming.
  • Recruit, interview, & enroll participants into Direct Entry pre-apprenticeship programs.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation for reporting
  • Participate in the planning and hosting of MACNY-wide events such as Manufacturing Month and the Annual Workforce Development Awards.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on MACNY services and program offerings to participants, businesses, educators, and community partners.

 

Registered Apprenticeship

  • Work with the Registered Apprenticeship team on multiple projects promoting statewide Registered Apprenticeship initiatives.
  • Conduct company training for new apprenticeship programs, including documentation and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a liaison with the Department of Labor (DOL) with MACNY’s Group Sponsored Apprenticeship program and maintain records and databases to ensure compliance to regulatory standards.
  • Help identify, coordinate and source appropriate on the job learning and related technical instruction.
  • Perform work as a team member on multiple programs and grant Including, but not limited to, data collection and providing grant program activity reports as required.

 

Workforce Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with businesses, educators, and community partners to promote the benefits of MACNY’s workforce development initiatives and MACNY’s Membership offerings.
  • Work with businesses to identify and solve skill gaps utilizing MACNY based
  • Participate in training programs that are necessary to support the dynamic nature of our
  • Attend MACNY events as requested.

USD $58,500.00/Yr.

Max Compensation

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in career pathway development, including programs for pre-apprenticeship, registered apprenticeship, post-secondary education including, university, community college and vocational/technical institutions.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple
  • Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and
  • Strong interpersonal and communication
  • Manufacturing experience in an employee development, human resources, or an operations role with an auditing knowledge of regulatory programs, orHigher education experience in an admissions or career counseling role, preferred.
  • Experience with digital platforms, virtual events, social media, and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems, a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm. Must have flexibility in availability to support occasional activities outside of regular business hours.
