Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assemble handcrafted fiberglass wheel products according to company procedures and specifications meeting ISO 9001 standards.
  • Determine specifications required to do each job from process sheets and engineering prints properly setting up and operating the machines/oven.
  • Make fiberglass wheel products according to process sheets by punching cloth then pinning and baking wheels.
  • Perform final inspection of product to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Meet target labor time standards for assembly.
  • Troubleshoot problems and determine working solutions in order to complete tasks.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by management.
  • Occasional overtime may be required as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school graduate or equivalent education and experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude; prior factory experience and basic blueprint reading preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Well organized including attention to detail.
  • Good reading and verbal communications skills.
  • Good mechanical skills preferred.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Work in machine shop environment that is well lit and ventilated. Includes mechanical noise caused by punch presses, air cylinders and other machine shop equipment.
  • Sitting about 6 hours/day; standing about 1 hour/day; walking about 1 hour/day.
  • Frequently lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs., occasionally carrying and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent and regular movements using the wrists, hands and/or fingers involving simple grasping or firmly grasping items.
  • Frequently using fingers and hands to make small movements while operating foot activated drill press equipment, assembling products, picking up and carrying small items.
  • Conveying detailed information to others or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly and quickly.
  • Occasional bending and twisting at waist, kneeling, reaching, and squatting.
