Experienced Manufacturing Quality Associates needed!  Oneida Molded Plastics (OMP) is actively seeking full-time 2nd and 3rd shift experienced Quality Inspectors to join our team in Oneida, NY.  OMP strives to build andmaintain a dynamic Quality team with a high degree of talent.  The right candidate will play a valuable role in the company’s future growth and path of continuous improvement!

 

The Quality Inspector will:

  • Inspect and approve start-up samples and in-process products and components in accordance with Work and Operator Instructions and in compliance with Quality standards and procedures.
  • Visually inspect material against product samples
  • Use various measuring tools and equiptment regularly
  • Communicate nonconformances to the appropriate personnel
  • Qualified candidates must be hard-working, safety focused, and motivated team players who are willing to learn and eager to gain and share new knowledge with their colleagues.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the manufacturing plant.
  • Quality Inspectors report directly to the Shift Supervisor or Quality Manager and are key members of the Quality Assurance team.

Oneida Molded Plastics is committed to providing fair compensation for all employees. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: currently held skills and experience levels, currently held education levels, local cost of living, designated shifts, and current and relevant compensation data available. Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections of products and components while utilizing appropriate measuring equipment
  • Measure critical dimensions and record measuring data
  • Approve start-up samples and in-process products and components
  • Record inspection data for job history
  • Write and submit Defective Material Reports for nonconforming material
  • Effectively communicate with Supervisors, Technicians, Operators and Engineers
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Engineering, Science or Math preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or similar related experience preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and customer drawings
  • Ability to use basic measuring and test equipment
  • Ability to setup and use a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production-oriented environment.
  • Ability to multitask and willingness to cross train.
  • Ability to follow, retain, and communicate detailed instructions.
  • Ability to follow standard policies and procedures.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage time, organize, and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including on-call/overtime as needed.
  • Able to perform visual inspections and comparisons of in-process product.
  • Able to frequently stand, twist, kneel, squat, bend, grip, and reach.
