Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

The Supervisor will oversee the production employees, activities, production, and schedule of the assigned operating department while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and 5s standards.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training new staff in the department.
  • Trains and manages production employees on the assigned shift.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Guides, assigns, schedules, and supervises the work of assigned production employees; ensures work is completed on schedule.
  • Ensures that all assigned production employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Recommends promotions and compensation reviews based on observed job performance.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor assigned production area to ensure effective and efficient operations including, but not limited to:

  • Performing machine by machine audits to insure standard operating procedures are being followed
  • Ensuring the timely maintenance of production and machine logbooks
  • Communicating production information, problems, or potential problems to operations, quality control, mold technicians, operators and production assistants on a regular and/or as-needed basis

Manage the development of operators including but not limited to:

  • Providing guidance and assistance to assigned employees with regard to proper production techniques
  • Identifying and carrying out of training and development needs of assigned employees

Oversee specific, assigned production including, but not limited to:

  • Overseeing mold changes and begin production start-ups
  • Maintaining established standard operating procedures
  • Determining when to make process adjustments or discontinue production
  • Gathering and monitoring quality control data
  • Locating resources for designated projects, when needed
  • Completing supervisor’s checklist and taking corrective action as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Possession of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Exceptional work experience with the company preferred.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience will be considered.
