To help us meet our mission LOTTE Biologics is in need of a Sr Electrical Engineer to serve as the primary subject matter expert for the electrical and power infrastructure on site and will develop and maintain the strategic plan for these systems.  The role will report into the Associate Director of Plant and Reliability Engineering and requires a technical understanding of the site electrical systems and how they work to maintain the design standards, SOPs, and electrical safeguards.  Execution of this role will focus on safety, schedule, and budget adherence in addition to complying with good engineering practices, company policies, regulations, and codes. On occasion, this position may need to execute electrical projects and provide troubleshooting expertise.

• Provide electrical engineering support to the facilities maintenance group, EHS, Process Automation, and project managers
• Ensure that switching operations and power outages are coordinated with National Grid to have a minimal impact, if any, upon plant operations.
• Support EHS in audits with Site Insurance Company and other groups regarding electrical testing and PM’s.
• Identify the need for and conceptually plan projects to improve and maintain the facilities’ electrical infrastructure. Serve as an SME during project planning, development, and execution.  Provide expertise needed by internal project managers as well as A&E firms and outside contractors on capital projects.
• Maintain the site Arc Flash Program in accordance with requirements.
• Provide electrical engineering technical support to Operations during the implementation of new technology in the manufacturing and laboratory areas.
• Coordinate projects with site Maintenance, Calibration, Validation, Automation, and Facilities Departments from project initiation to closure to ensure all systems are designed, constructed, and documented properly.
• Accountable for the supervision and execution of electrical engineering staff and project planning.

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience is required.
• New York State Professional Engineering license is preferred.
• Detailed knowledge of power systems including medium/high voltage (115 kv) transformers and substations; 5 kv circuit breakers, switchgear and protective relaying; 480 v transformers, circuit breakers and MCC’s and 5 kv and 480 v emergency generators.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and other pertinent codes.
• Strong analytical skills and logical troubleshooting skills are required.
• Understanding of regulatory and OSHA regulations is preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory, manufacturing facilities, utilities and infrastructure, construction, maintenance, and operations is preferred.
