LOTTE Biologics, located in Syracuse, NY, is currently searching for an  Data Engineer (Analytics Engineer) to join our Digital Plant (DP) team.  LOTTE Biologics is a Biologics Contract Development Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) located in Syracuse, NY.  The Analytics Engineer will be responsible for support, design, development, and delivery activities related to data services, data analytics, and the application of advanced tools.  The Engineer will effectively collaborate across the Lotte Biologics teams to understand requirements, communicate statuses, and conduct necessary support, change, test and implement activities to ensure business needs and requirements are satisfied. The Data Engineer (Analytics Engineer) role requires an individual to think creatively, challenge existing models, and solve intriguing problems.

Responsibilities

  • Work with analytics applications and tools with the goal of monitoring, analyzing, and gaining insight of process data. 
  • Support and improve the robustness of existing applications and analytics solutions. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and customers to understand business requirements. 
  • Generate documentation including design specifications, work instructions, and knowledge-based articles. 
  • Provide administration support to analytical applications such as PI, Tableau, SIMCA, SEEQ, JMP, etc. 
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations for ongoing measurement and KPIs. 
  • Maintain current reports in existing reporting platforms 
  • Develop and Optimize SQL Queries leveraged by existing application integrations, reporting, and data analytics. 
  • Investigate source system data as needed to deliver analytical solutions. 
  • Develop and support data lake and warehouse capabilities. 
  • Utilize Extract, Transform, Load (UTL) methodologies and techniques for data lake ingestion 
  • Provide requested data from applications to stakeholders to support the business. 
  • Work as integral member of cross-functional teams to gather and document requirements to meet business needs. 
  • Maintain validated applications in an audit ready state. 
  • Upgrade existing systems as required to ensure digital modernization. 

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision but provide escalation when required. 
  • Strong project management, verbal communication, documentation, and technical writing skills 
  • Demonstrated success of executing in a complex matrix project team environment 
  • Team player with an emphasis on both knowledge sharing and learning 
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment, manage multiple priorities, and at times, be self-directed 
  • Proficiency with current Aveva PI Historian and associated data tools.  
  • Experience with SQL and Microsoft SQL server database administration 
  • Ability to learn and apply programming language such as Python, R, C# 
  • Working knowledge of S88 and S95 standards preferred. 
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices: Dev Ops, Source Control, Agile Methodology, ML Ops, Front-end or full-stack web development a plus 
  • Knowledge of data delivery concepts (Lake, Warehouse, Mart) a plus 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related Data Science and Engineering disciplines preferred. 
  • 2+ years of work experience with data analytics involving biologics production (process development and/or manufacturing technical support) or medical devices preferred. 
  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications 
  • Excellent problem-solving, presentation, verbal, and written communications skills 

Physical Demands

  • Work within all Site Facilities, which requires one to give a high attention to detail and on occasion to properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).   

Work Environment

  • This position is based indoors and the employee will primarily be working with others, but also independently. This position requires employee presence, on site 50-100%. This position is a team & project-based position that will require occasional shift work, weekends, and holidays.
