LOTTE BIOLOGICS located in East Syracuse, NY is seeking an Operations Scheduler to join their team who entered the biologics Contract Development Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) business after acquiring Bristol Myers Squibb’s Syracuse biologics drug substance manufacturing site, on January 1, 2023!

Responsibilities

The primary role of the Operations Scheduler is to provide daily scheduling for tasks assigned to manufacturing. This role plays a key part in schedule adherence to maintain compliance within manufacturing working toward a finite schedule. In the role, you will be accountable for working with Manufacturing, Maintenance and Reliability in scheduling of operations, maintenance, metrology and validation tasks on a daily basis.

  • Responsible for creating an environment for manufacturing to execute with excellence
  • Lead scheduler of operations daily tasks
  • Act as lead for the input data sheet for Bio G data integration
  • Perform as a technical lead for manufacturing within the Bio G scheduling software
  • Attend weekly Manufacturing Maintenance and Calibration planning and scheduling meetings
  • Work closely with Operations Maintenance Scheduler to maintain schedule adherence for maintenance tasks
  • Drive performance in support of Technical Manufacturing department to define equipment, rooms and operations availability for projects
  • Review and schedule monthly operation PMs appropriately to maintain compliance
  • Partner with the reliability department to ensure PMs and CALs accuracy
  • Assist in scenario planning and scheduling with project teams
  • Utilizing Maximo to schedule manufacturing PM’s & calibrations each month
  • Initiate service requests to drive F&E Maximo performance for manufacturing
  • Act as a manufacturing representative in cross-functional meetings on equipment availability
  • Accountable for scheduling work associated with pre-approvals and quality tag-outs
  • Adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures and proactively identify unsafe conditions.

Qualifications

  • The position requires a strong understanding of cGMP and regulatory agency requirements and strong technical operational knowledge.
  • Incumbents must demonstrate experience in understanding manufacturing equipment and the overall manufacturing process.
  • The role requires an established history of successful participation on diverse work teams where combined contribution, collaboration and results were expected.
  • The position requires excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to provide direction and communicate expectations to the operating staff.
  • The candidate will have strong computer skills and be proficient in the following programs: Maximo, Word, Excel, Visio, and Project.
  • The position requires the ability to work off-hours as needed to complete projects or key tasks requiring SME oversight.

Education/Experience/ Licenses/Certifications:

  • Knowledge of science generally attained through studies resulting in a B.S. in science +2yrs experience in manufacturing or no B.S. in science + 5yrs experience in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of scheduling and planning maintenance highly desired
  • Reliability certification highly desired
  • Extensive knowledge of SOPs and GMPs and the know-how to work and manage within a regulated environment
  • Strong knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes
  • Adaptable to a fast paced, complex and ever-changing business environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with technical writing skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and business software applications

 Physical Demands:

  • Physical exertion may be required including sitting, standing
  • Repetitive use of arm, hands, wrists
