Process Engineer MCP - Huhtamaki 

 

Consumer Package Manufacturing Company is currently seeking a full time Process Engineer for the Manufacturing Career Program.  Individual will maintain and improve processes throughout a 24/7 manufacturing operation by trouble-shooting problems effecting manufacturing operations and by replacing, modifying, or creating processes to achieve improved production efficiencies and reduce operating costs. Provide support to the maintenance and operations teams to ensure the at the process control systems are maintained to specifications. Investigate new technologies and their applications and effectiveness within the process. Manage capital projects for process improvements, identify and implement process equipment and/or operating changes, develop standard operating procedures and train manufacturing operations personnel on new or modified equipment and processes.  

 

Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Fusion, or Inventor electro-mechanical CAD design, and lean-manufacturing practices is preferred. Experience with MS Access and Visual Basic Programming a plus. Hands-on problem solving, demonstrated analytical, and effective communication skills are a required. 

 

Process Engineer MCP will be responsible to:

1. Assist the Process and Plant Engineering Team with production equipment and process problem analysis and implementation of engineering solutions.
2. Assist in design, documentation, and installation planning of production tooling, fixtures, and material handling devices required for insuring efficient and high quality processes.
3. Create appropriately detailed mechanical machine tooling drawings, electrical design drawings, plant engineering drawings, and factory floor plan drawings using CAD. 
4. Support Process and Plant Engineering Team as required and other engineering duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Optimizes manufacturing processes and/or completes manufacturing projects, to provide sustainable gains in cost effectiveness and product performance through daily production process interaction, capital projects, statistical analysis, designed experiments, and procedural changes. To be technical resource for Department Manager in assigned production department.
  • Maintains safety, product quality, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties, assigned process area.
  • Manages assigned project to effectively complete in a timely manner and meet project goals.
  • Works with internal and external customers to resolve technical/quality issues.
  • Participates in and/or leads multi-functional teams (Operators, Mechanics, Quality, Industrial Staff, R&D, Marketing, Vendor and Customer) to resolve problems and develop new products.
  • Starts-up new products and equipment (supervises installation, troubleshoots initial production, ensures new processes and products meet requirements, documents and transfers to Production).
  • Incorporates Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles into projects and operations.
  • Develops and implements system component measurements to ensure operational discipline, repeatability and efficiency.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
