Schneider Packaging Equipment is hiring Assemblers to join their team!  Assemblers perform a variety of machine assembly operations working from engineering drawings and specifications.

 

This is a 1st shift position,  7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of machine assembly functions utilizing hand tools (drills, grinders, band saws, sockets/wrenches) from engineering drawings following documented procedures.
  • Fabricate parts, set-up and adjust machinery.
  • Work as a team in assembly operations.
  • Assure routine inspection functions are performed following documented procedures.
  • Collaborate with Electrical and Engineering personnel to troubleshoot equipment, make changes, etc.
  • Complete electronic labor reporting.
  • Advise and assist other assemblers in assembly operations and procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the assembly team and its functions.
  • Perform other related duties as required by management.
  • Potential travel with equipment for installation.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • One to three years’ experience in similar industry/custom machine-building manufacturing experience desired.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings.
  • Ability to operate hand tools.

Physical/Mental Standards

  • Ability to operate computer.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient for constant use of a keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Speech and hearing sufficient for regular communications. Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor and transaction documents.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform climbing, stooping, crouching, walking, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
  • Executing up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and or 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
